The relationship suffers and ends, however, when Dylan cheats with Kelly Taylor. Dylan’s father is a rich businessman named Jack McKay, who fakes his death in a car explosion and enters the Witness Protection Program. Jack is also imprisoned at one point in the series for alleged crime connections, while Dylan’s mother remains a hippie who doesn’t care very much for him. Throughout the series, Dylan also battles with a number of addictions.
