Patricia Heaton was born on March 4, 1958 in Bay Village, Ohio where she spent her elementary years attending St. Raphael Elementary School. At the age of twelve, her mother passed away and she was left to live with her father and four other siblings. After high school she was educated at Ohio State University where she graduated with a degree in drama. She later on moved to New York to further study drama under William Esper and appeared on Broadway only once, in a production entitled Don't Get God Started. Heaton was discovered by a casting director while one of her tours with an acting group, and was then cast for a role on thirtysomething. Her other appearances on television followed, such as those on Alien Nation, Matlock, Party of Five,
The King of Queens and
Danny Phantom . She also appeared in television movies such as Shattered Dreams (1990), Miracle in the Woods (1997), A Town Without Christmas, The Goodbye Girl (2004) and The Engagement Ring (2005). Aside from acting, Heaton is also involved in pro-life issues advocacy regarding abortion, euthanasia, and the death penalty.
Kelly Carr is played by Patricia Heaton on the FOX series Back To You. Kelly is half of the team used to dominate Pittsburgh's local TV news scene. Together with Chuck Darling, they were a very popular figure on the news due to their on screen chemistry. However, Chuck left the station for greater heights, until a controversy caught him in a bad stop. He was then forced to retreat into the small town where he came from--thus going back to his regular job. Will Chuck's return reignite the feelings they once had for each other?
