Aang is the main character in the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is a 12-year old monk and is the current reincarnation of Avatar, the spirit planet manifested in human form. He feels terrible guilt and burden in his duties as Avatar. This causes him to conceal his true identity from friends. In addition, he enjoys adventure which mostly entails traveling the world and has an optimistic thirst for knowledge. Ultimately, he is on a quest to master the elements and bring peace to the war-torn nations.
