From being the mischievous model on Cycle 5 of Tyra Banks' hit reality TV competition, Lisa D'Amato has checked in with Dr. Drew Pinsky on Celebrity Rehab. We've heard the news before, but the premiere's set this week so here we have it again. The America's Next Top Model star and musician will be appearing on the VH1 series, which focuses on the path from addiction to redemption in the course of several weeks.
Celebrity Rehab gathers a number of known stars who have made the decision to enter the Pasadena Recovery Center, undergoing a drug alcohol and addiction treatment program. They will learn from their experiences, in the hopes of turning over a new leaf.
On an interview with online publication
Liife and Such, Lisa D'Amato discussed her feelings about the show and how much it helped her grow as an individual. She doesn't exactly have a major problem with drugs or alcohol though, but there's always the possibility.
According to the
America's Next Top Model Cycle 5 contestant, she just wanted closure. "I was NOT detoxing from anything or addicted to anything. I was there to see f I could possibly develop an addiction," D'Amato explained. "I have trauma from my childhood that needed to be addressed so that I could move on in my adult life, otherwise, it could be a developing problem."
She went on: 'Being that I have been exploited drinking on T.V. it made me a good target. I'm down to tear down to rebuild and to learn. I learned sooo much."
Joining Lisa D'Amato on
Celebrity Rehab are actress Mackenzie Phillips, singer Mindy McCready, beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche, Real World star Joey Kovar, actor Tom Sizemore, Heidi Fleiss, Dennis Rodman, and Mike Starr, the former bass player of Alice and Chains.
Don't miss the premiere of
Celebrity Rehab 3 to catch a glimpse of Lisa D'Amato as the series airs on Thursday, January 7 at 10pm on VH1.
