Season 12 Promo Featuring Phillip Phillips

Along with FOX announcing the American Idol season 12 premiere date, a new promo has been released. And it shows that, despite the ratings not being as high as they used to be, Idol can still churn out successful winners and contestants after all these years, unlike a certain other singing competition show that's dominating the fall season at the moment.

The entire promo focuses on this year's winner, Phillip Phillips, and his rise to stardom, from his audition to winning and having a song featured during the Olympics: "It started with a dream, from unknown to superstar ... where the American dream begins."

The accolades for Phillip keep on coming. As mentioned in the promo, "Home" has sold 2 million copies, and has officially been certified double platinum. As MjsBigBlog notes, "Phillip is the first American Idol winner to have a coronation single go double plat. David Cook's 'Time of My Life' and Kelly Clarkson's 'Moment Like This' sold more than a million copies." Now, that's impressive that he could sell that many when not even Kelly Clarkson could do the same with her winning single.

Jessica Sanchez Teams up with Apl.de.Ap

Phillip Phillips has already announced his debut album release. And while we're still waiting on word of runner-up Jessica Sanchez's album, check out this new music video for "Jump In," a song that she collaborated on with the Black Eyed Peas' Apl.de.Ap. When Jessica was in the Philippines recently for an Idol tour stop, the two recorded and filmed this video together.

Kelly Clarkson and Colton Dixon Lyric Videos

While music videos haven't been released yet for these songs, the next best thing is to put out lyric videos. And that's what Kelly Clarkson has done with her new single "Catch My Breath," as well as Colton Dixon for "You Are."

"Catch My Breath" will be featured on Kelly's Greatest Hits -- Chapter One album, due out November 19. And according to Amazon, Colton's debut release will be available on February 12, 2013.

Nikki Reed: "Our album is done!!! What an amazing experience! Thank you @kenraycoomer for producing my first record, and convincing me to put my fears aside and sing..."

Nikki Reed, who stars in the Twilight movies, is married to Paul McDonald, and the above tweet is announcing the completion of an album the two of them have been working together on.
