Get ready to put your hands up and "SHOUT" when Glee airs its 500th musical performance this March.

FOX has announced that Glee will air at a special time, 9:30pm-10:30pm, on Thursday, March 7 with "Girls (and Boys) on Film," an episode where the kids sing songs from the movies. The episode will include the big 500th musical performance from the series, a rousing rendition of the Isley Brothers' song "Shout" as featured prominently in the classic John Belushi comedy Animal House.

The episode will air after a special 90-minute episode of American Idol that will reveal America's votes for the Top 10 after two nights of performances.

The Glee episode, which will be the first one back after taking two weeks off following the big Will and Emma wedding episode onf Valentine's Day, will also feature Kurt and Rachel getting a little upset at just how comfortable their new roommate Santana is making herself.

American Idol will head into the semifinals for the last two weeks of February as the Top 40 will take the stage in Las Vegas over four nights of two-hour performances Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8pm starting February 20. The judges will narrow that field down to the Top 10 guys and the Top 10 girls. They will take the stage for two-hour episodes Tuesday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 6 at 8pm as America will vote for their favorites. The 90-minute live results show on Thursday, March 7 at 8pm will then reveal the Top 10.

Reaching 500 musical performances is an impressive milestone for Glee in just four seasons. The last big milestone for the show was its 300th musical number, the brilliant Adele mash-up of "Rumor Has It" and "Someone Like Me" performed by the Troubletones.

Are you excited to see "Shout" as the 500th Glee performance? Are you hoping for togas and food fights?
