The female-heavy cast of the third season of American Horror Story is growing with the newest addition of Emma Roberts. American Horror Story: Coven will deal with witches, and clearly that means plenty of female roles.

American Horror Story: Freak Show is available on Amazon Prime.

No details on her character are released, but Roberts will be appearing with real-life boyfriend Evan Peters, who is returning to the anthology series.

But thus far Peters is the ONLY male star confirmed for the show's third season. Other returning cast members include Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe and Talissa Farmiga.

Meanwhile, Roberts joins a very impressive slate of new female stars for the FX drama's third season. Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe are all on tap for the new season. That's a lot of star power as Bates, like Lange, has won an Oscar, while Bassett and Sidibe are both past Oscar nominees. LuPone, meanwhile has several Ton Awards.

The casting of Emma Roberts also means American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy is keeping it all in the family. He's also directing a TV movie adaptation of the Broadway play The Normal Heart for HBO with star Julia Roberts, Emma's aunt.

Roberts is free following the fact that FOX passed on her new TV show, Delirium. This marks her first TV appearance since Roberts starred in Nickelodeon's Unfabulous in 2007.

As with previous seasons, American Horror Story: Coven will premiere in October on FX.
