As reported previously, the second season of
American Gladiators is scheduled to premiere on Monday, May 12. While viewers will get to see the 12 original gladiators again, they will also be introduced to three new warriors that will take on 40 new fierce competitors.
The only male contender to take on the gladiators during season one, Rocket returns on the second season of
American Gladiators to once again prove his worth into the arena. Also known as Evan Dollard, this first season winner is describe as the one ruthless competitor who will charm viewers with a blinding smile right until the moment he roars up like lightning to toss his contenders to doom.
Just like Rocket, Jet is no stranger to the arena. Also known as Monica Carlson, this season 1 female winner triumphantly returns with a supersonic stunner to create some major turbulence.
Also joining the team of existing warriors is Phoenix, whose real name is Jennifer Widerstrom. This bewitching fighter has the ability to fool her contenders into believing that they have a chance, though she can also easily shred anyone into submission.
As revealed by host
Hulk Hogan, the second season of
American Gladiators will have more twists besides the addition of the three new cast members.
"Season 2 of
American Gladiators is going to be bigger and badder than before! We have new gladiators, new events and a new gladiator arena. All those gladiator maniacs out there are going to be blown away," he said.
Seven new heart-pounding events will be introduced this season, including Rocketball and Vertigo, which will be revealed in the premiere episode. The Rocketball features contenders as they hit their personal launch buttons and fire themselves as many times as they can into the air high above the Gladiator Arena in a span of 1 minute, while the Vertigo takes a good old-fashioned foot race and puts it 30 feet in the air on top of rail thin poles that sway violently back and forth.
Don't forget to catch the return of new episodes of
American Gladiators on May 12 at 8pm on NBC.
