Michael E. Knight was born on May 7, 1959 in Princeton, New Jersey and desired to be an actor at a very young age. He was educated at the Wesleyan University and upon graduating, he went into technical training at the Circle in the Square Theatre. He is best known for his role as Tad Martin in the soap opera All My Children. His other appearances include Date with an Angel, Murder, She Wrote, Dear John, and Grapevine. He also appeared on stage, on off-Broadway plays like Wrong Turn at Lungfish and Cakewalk. He has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for "Outstanding Younger Leading Actor" and another in 2001.
Thaddeus James "Tad" Martin is played by Michael E. Knight in the soap opera entitled All My Children. Tad was born Tad Gardner in 1963 and was abandoned in a Pine Valley park by his father, Ray ten years later. He was found and taken in by Jeff and Mary Martin, a married couple. His father then came back to sell Tad to the Martins and when they did not agree, he raped Ruth, the adoptive mother of Tad. Ray was sent to prison and Tad was formally adopted by the Martins. His name was then had his name changed to Tad Martin.
