Jacob Wayne Young was born on September 10, 1981 in Renton, Washington, and was raised in Tillamook, Oregon and Roy, Washington. When he was seventeen years only he moved to San Diego, California with his mother. Young played Rick Forrester on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful and Lucky Spencer on General Hospital. He also played Adam "JR" Chandler Jr. on All My Children, another soap opera. He won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2002.
Adam "JR" Chandler, Jr. is played by Jacob Young in the soap opera All My Children. Adam Sr. was unable to have a child with his wife Brooke English so he pursued Dixie Cooney, the niece of his long time enemy Palmer Cortlandt, to produce an heir for him. After doing so, he deviously plotted to get sole custody of his son. He placed Dixie in a mental institution but she escaped with the help of Tad. In his later years, JR became friends with Erica Kane's two daughters Kendall Hart and Bianca Motgomery. JR also became close to his stepbrother Jamie Martin, who was the son of his mother with Tad. He soon got involved with the wrong crowd in school and was involved in drug addiction and an accident which killed Hayley and her unborn child.
