24: Episode 7.6, "1:00pm to 2:00pm" Recap (Page 1/3)

Jack Bauer is a pro at going undercover.  Deep, deep undercover.  In season 3 of 24, Jack got himself addicted to heroin to infiltrate the Salazar family.  That's commitment.  This season on 24, he has kidnapped the prime minister of a foreign country by smoking him out of a panic room, a decision that nearly killed the prime minister and his wife.  The last time we saw Jack, he was literally burying FBI Agent Renee Walker alive.  Needless to say, it takes a whole helluva lot for Jack to break cover.  Season 7 has been engrossing enough this season, though the potential for a season 6-style fall from glory remains a possibility.  However, the story is so far intriguing, and the way its set-up, there are myriad directions in which 24 could go.  Below you will find the multi-page recap of tonight's episode.  In honor of Jack Bauer, I injected myself with black tar heroin before the episode.

Is Henry Taylor dead?  The silent clock that ended the last episode makes me believe this is the case.  But, alas, who knows?  Will Attractive FBI Lady survive her own burial?  Yes.  Definitely.

The FBI is preparing for an imminent attack.  Their objective: Find Bauer and Almeida.  Find the CIP device.  Find Walker.  Janis and Sean are on the case, play the intercepted phone call to Big Boss Man Moss.    Sean tries to cheer up Big Boss Man, but he snaps.  “WE DO NOT KNOW IF SHE IS DEAD YET.  ALL RIGHT?”  Geez, man.  Relax, and focus.

Chloe and Bill arrive at the construction site to dig Walker up.  They find her, but she's not breathing.  Chloe hands bill a shot of adrenaline.  He performs CPR, and then shoots her up.  Music crescendo....and...Walker is alive.  Confused, but OK.

Emerson, Jack, Tony, Mister Prime Minister Mutobo, and Random Henchman approach the rendezvous.  Jack asks how Emerson got Tony out of CTU.  Christopher Anderson purposely missed the artery with the injection – he was meant to only seem dead.  Tony did go bad, did have hatred.  He does the Jack Donaghy voice, while spouting some nonsense about how the rules had changed, how there was no honor left, and about how Emerson treated him like a brother.  Finally, they arrive at the warehouse for the exchange.  Jack whispers to Tony, “Are you ready?”  “Yeah.”  “Are you sure?”  “Yeah.”

Emerson tells Jack to get Mutobo from the back of the van.  When Jack turns around, Emerson puts a gun to Jack's head.  He knows Tony has switched sides, has changed something.  “Take the shot.  Tony, take the shot.”  Tony does, hits Emerson in the shoulder.  Jack finishes him off with a shot to the neck.

Bauer Kill Count: 1.  Way to get off the snide, Jack.

Bill does all sorts of explaining to Agent Walker.  Main point: she needs to remain “dead,” at least for the time being.
