There is not a man on earth that kills bad guys in a more entertaining manner than
Jack Bauer. Sure, he may be fictional, but his precision and creativity is unrivaled. He is the killing equivalent of Steve Nash, Mozart, and the Dalai Lama combined. Jack is so good at terminating nameless evil minions that he seems to challenge himself at times, making kills at a higher degree of difficulty than necessary. Such is the majesty of Jack Bauer.
With the two-hour
24 finale tonight, it seemed like a good time to go back and sift through Jack's day six wreckage in order to find his five best kills of the season (and we have video of each, to boot).
First, let's take a short gander at Jack's kill count this year compared to previous seasons.
Jack Bauer kills, by season:
Season 1: 10
Season 2: 30
Season 3: 14
Season 4: 44
Season 5: 38
Season 6: 36...so far
There's a good chance that Jack will overtake his season 5 total during tonight's two-hour finale. The discrepancies between seasons one and three and all the others is astonishing. Of course, the total is inflated in those other seasons by random henchman. For instance, in season one Jack killed both Andre and Victor Drazen. In season three, Jack finally offed Nina Myers. Those big time kills are worth far more than your random, nameless lackey.
For tonight, the question is whether Jack will kill any of the big names. Cheng and Jack's father are still out there. Will he gun down either of them? The big news would be a final showdown between Jack and his father Phillip. If he has to kill him to save, say, Josh Bauer, you can bet he'll go through with it. Would he kill his father in cold blood if he doesn't have to? Probably not. On the other hand, Jack probably won't hesitate to take out Cheng, who has pretty much ruined his life.
