The Big Bang Theory panel at Comic-Con certainly opened with a bang on Friday (sorry, that was too easy) when the audience was invited to sing the show's theme song with The Barenaked Ladies--lyrics kindly provided for the non-diehards. If that wasn't enough to stir up the fan love in the room, "Soft Kitty"--Sheldon Cooper's feel-better song of choice--certainly did the trick. (Thankfully, no one in the crowd had any vapo-rub handy or it would have felt a little too much like a show episode come to life.)

The panel, moderated by Wil Wheaton, included cast members Kunal Nayyar (who plays Rajesh), Simon Helberg (Howard), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Jim Parsons (Sheldon), Johnny Galecki (Leonard), and executive producers Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady.

Wheaton kicked things off with a question for the entire group:

What is the cast geeky for?

Kunal: Badminton
Simon: Accordian solos
Kaley: The Barenaked Ladies
Jim: Talk Radio
Johnny: Work and True Blood

Other questions that followed covered a range of topics, from walk of shames to the fine art of comedic acting:

(To Simon):
Do you get to play on the set the same way you did doing improv?
Simon: I trust the writers and actors. I don't ever see any need to do anything or tweak anything. I don't miss [improv]. This is an amazing group.

(To Johnny): How does Johnny relate to Leonard?
Johnny: The relationship is frustrating. It's a "grass is always greener" kind of a feeling. He suffers a lot.

(To Kaley): You play the least geeky character on the show, but you're the geekiest on set...?
Kaley: I'm a late-comer to the Harry Potter books. And Wil Wheaton...didn't know who he was (joke.)

(To Kunal): It seems like your character will one day wake up next to a "wooooo" girl. When he wakes up, does he care? Does he do a walk of shame out of his own house?

Kunal: I think he would want to dress like this girl. And wake up people to brag about it.

(To Jim): What is it like for you as an actor to play a character that is so unlike who you really are?

Jim: It's fulfilling because there's so much to do. And surprisingly easy because of the writing. It's right there.

In discussing Comic-Con--specifically whether or not there would ever be a Comic-Con episode--Chuck Lorre called the crew an "indoor cat" and Bill Prady added to that, saying that it would be pretty difficult since The Big Bang Theory is a four-camera show. Here's hoping they might find a way because what could be better than a cast of geeks filming amidst an entire convention of geeks?

The panel wrapped by answering a question all of the show's fans have been pondering since the show began--"Bazinga" came from an early season writer who preferred the term to "Gotcha"--and revealing that [SPOILER ALERT]: Sheldon's love interest, Amy (Mayim Bialik) will be returning to the show this season.
