Other than being Ellen DeGeneres' girlfriend and future wife, if things go ahead as planned, Portia de Rossi is best known to television fans for her role as Nelle Porter on the huge late 1990s to early 2000 series Ally McBeal.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, de Rossi will co-star in a so-far untitled single-camera office comedy being cooked up by veteran comedy writer-producer Victor Fresco, who recently transferred from 20th Century Fox TV to ABC Studios.

Gil Bellows was known as Billy Thomas on the drama series Ally McBeal. Although he was married to Georgia, he was perceived as Ally’s one true love. Ally even had an affair with him while she was in a relationship with Greg Butters. Unfortunately, his character died in the episode entitled Boy Next Door.
