The excitement is ratcheting up now that we’re finally getting closer to the April 4 premiere of Battlestar Galactica‘s fourth season.  To help build anticipation for the final year of the Sci Fi Channel series, the network has released new promotional photos giving us a fresh glimpse at all of our favorite characters.  The pictures showcase the return of a particular Cylon, a new look for Lee Adama, a clean cut Baltar (James Callis), and a rather telling group snapshot.

The first image shows Helo (Tahmoh Penikett) and Boomer, obviously still together and very much in love.   Their relationship, and their child, have always posed a subtle threat to the other members of the ship.

Here are the four Cylons that were uncovered in Battlestar Galactica‘s season 3 finale.  Any guesses on who number five might be?

Lucy Lawless returns as Cylon D’Anna Biers.  The last we saw of her, her model was being boxed away permanently.

The best thing about this photo is the fact that Baltar finally got a shave and a haircut.  There’s no telling what role he’ll play now that he’s a free man again.

Perhaps the most intriguing image is this one of Lee Adama (Jamie Bamber), who appears to have left “Apollo” behind and traded in his flight suit for the business variety.

Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) returns from being presumed dead with the news that she’s been to Earth.  Is she a Cylon?  Is she a ghost?  Did she ever die at all?  Who knows, but I can’t wait to find out.

Taking a look at this cast photo, it’s interesting to see how particular people are grouped together.  The four newly revealed Cylons are together on the right, Adama (Edward James Olmos) and Roslin (Mary McDonnell) are standing front and center, and Lee and Kara are predictably near each other.  However, is there a reason that Helo and Boomer (Grace Park) are separated by Number Six (Tricia Helfer)?  If I were someone who liked to read too much into things, I would guess that Boomer might find herself embracing more of her Cylon side this season.  That may not bode well for her future with Helo.

Battlestar Galactica‘s fourth and final season will kick off on Friday, April 4 at 10pm.
