No big surprise for fans after Tuesday night’s results show. Ingo Rademacher and his professional partner Kym Johnson were eliminated from season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. This leaves the final four going into next week’s finals as Kellie Pickler, Zendaya, Aly Raisman, and Jacoby Jones.

The two pairs in jeopardy at the end of the show Tuesday night were Zendaya and Ingo, but no one was fooled. Ingo’s time had come and he took his defeat gracefully after putting together a nice run on Dancing with the Stars.

Reality Without the Drama

Season 16 has lacked drama all season. I’ve said it over and over, but it has hurt the show. The talent gap on this season was very noticeable, and as a result, the eliminations were usually pretty obvious.

This was never more apparent than Tuesday night. Ingo just wasn’t in the same league as the other four dancers. The judges knew it, Ingo knew it, the fans knew, and even Brooke Burke knew it. Going into the finals next week; however, there should be plenty of drama as the remaining four pairs are all very evenly matched.

A Look Back

All you have to do is look back at Ingo’s scores from the judges to see why he was eliminated Tuesday. He was better than the likes of D.L. Hughley, Andy Dick, Wynonna Judd while falling below the top four.

Looking back over Ingo’s scores during season 16, he averaged a 22.6 on all his dances with just Kym. Week one, Ingo scored a 20, while coming in with his highest score of the season on his final dance with a 27. Ingo never got below a 20 and proved to be reliably decent. Unfortunately for him, he was just never great.

Final Opinion

So Ingo’s elimination surprised no one. He just wasn’t the best dancer this season, or even in the top three. However, that doesn’t mean his appearance on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars wasn’t a success.

Although I don’t know Ingo’s motivation for joining the show, it definitely got his name back out in the spotlight and left him in a good light. Some former stars go on these reality shows to try and get work and end up hurting their careers after coming across terribly. Ingo didn’t do that. The former General Hospital star came across as very likeable and went far enough into the competition to get a decent amount of air time. All in all I think Ingo’s performance on Dancing with the Stars was a success.
