With the crisis in Bon Temps careening out of control, Bill seeks out the advice of Sophie-Anne, the Vampire Queen of Louisiana, but must exercise patience before she gives him critical information. Meanwhile, Sookie and Lafayette find that protecting Tara from herself is more difficult than they anticipated; a desperate Sam turns to an unlikely source for assistance; and Jessica tests Hoyt’s allegiance to Maxine.

In anticipation of the climactic final battle with maenad Maryann, I was overly excited about "Frenzy." The episode setup good groundwork for the finale, however, it didn‘t really live up to all the hype. It was also a bit of a let down seeing one scene jump to another without any major developments. On the other had, there were so many revelations in this installment alone, including Hoyt‘s sad backstory, Sookie‘s cousin, Eric lusting after teacup humans, and Sookie and Lafayette both admitting to being subconsciously obsessed with the Viking vamp.
