MTV is still feeling the love for New Jersey. Today the network officially announced the premiere date for the sixth season of Jersey Shore
and renewed the show's spin-off, Snooki and JWoww
, for a second season.
MTV also scheduled premiere dates for two new shows including a new drama from the creator of Dirty Sexy Money
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
season 6 will fist bump its way back onto the airwaves on Thursday, October 4 at 10pm. Meanwhile Snooki and JWoww
will get to continue their journey into adulthood on a second season of their spin-off that will continue to show the two dealing with Snooki's impending baby and wedding.
MTV will debut its newest drama series Underemployed on Tuesday, October 16 at 10pm. The show, created by Dirty Sexy Money
creator Craig Wright (who also wrote for Lost
and Brothers and Si
sters) centers on a quartet of college graduates who enter the real world and must face troubles with their jobs and love lives.
There's Sophia, the valedictorian who wants to be a writer and unpaid intern Daphne. Lou and Reviva were a couple who broke up to pursue their individual dreams (he an environmentalist and she a singer), but that's ruined when she shows up nine months pregnant. Finally there's Miles (Rock of Ages
star Diego Boneta) who wants to be an underwear model.
The whole things sounds a bit like HBO's Girls
, only without the pretention and "edgy" nudity, although since one of the characters wants to be an underwear model, it's safe to assume he'll be as shirtless as that dude on Girls
. Actually, it also sounds like a dramatic version of MTV's recently canceled I Just Want My Pants Back
, which was also identical to Girls
in terms of tone and subject matter. But because it was on MTV and not HBO, critics didn't lavish it with praise.
Finally, the new docu-drama Catfish: The TV Show
will premiere Monday, November 12 at 10pm. Based on the popular indie movie, the show will uncover the truth about couples who have fallen in love online but who have never met in person.(Image courtesy of MTV)
