The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss may not have been pressuring her boyfriend Todd Tucker to pop the question (unlike her co-star Kenya Moore), but she must have done something right. The two confirmed to People yesterday that they are engaged.

The two met while filming season 4 of RHOA, where Todd was working as a producer. The two connected on the trip to Africa and have been dating ever since.

Todd has been appearing on the newest season of the show, where the two move into a house together and Todd gets to know more about Kandi’s 10-year-old daughter, Riley, from a previous relationship. Kandi expressed in her confessionals that she was very happy with Todd, and while she discussed making it more official and perhaps even having more kids, she was willing to let things move at the most natural rate possible.

“Thanks to everyone that are sending their well wishes! Todd and I appreciate the love from you all!” Kandi tweeted last night.

It seems that Kandi, like her co-star NeNe Leakes, was proposed to on New Year’s Day. According to US Weekly, Todd popped the question at a New Year’s party at their home — after getting Kandi’s daughter’s blessing, of course — by getting down on one knee and giving her a two-carat diamond by Gregg Ruth.

Kandi, the Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, has been engaged before, to the late Ashley “A.J.” Jewell in 2009, but called it off before he passed away. She said she was “totally surprised” by Todd’s proposal.

“I used to make jokes with my friends that I was part of the Forever Single Club,” she told US Weekly. “That’s what I said before, but now I’m totally different.”

Maybe now, like her co-star before her, Kim Zolciak, a wedding spin-off is in her future? We can only hope!
