David Boreanaz returns to the small screen as the respected leader of of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs on CBS’ SEAL Team but the Bones star isn’t the only one to look forward to on CBS’ new military drama. Read on to find out more about the cast and their fearless characters.

David Boreanaz as Jason Hayes


David Boreanaz takes the lead on SEAL Team as Jason Hayes, the charming yet tough head of the Tier One team who struggles to find balance between his duty and his family. The 48-year-old actor is best known for playing Seeley Booth on the FOX series Bones, which concluded its 12-year run this year. Boreanaz also became a household name as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel. 

Max Thieriot as Clay Spenser


Best known for playing Dylan Massett in the A&E drama-thriller television series Bates Motel, Max Thieriot appeared in films such as Catch That Kid, The Pacifier and Nancy Drew. On SEAL Team, he plays Clay Spenser, a driven and ambitious multi-lingual second generation SEAL who is undergoing training in attempt to be part of Hayes’ elite team.

Neil Brown Jr. as Ray


Playing Ray on the CBS series is Neil Brown Jr., who is most recognizable as Guillermo, leader of the Vatos, on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Brown’s character is trustworthy and “the longest-tenured operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained shorthand.”

A.J. Buckley as Sonny


Irish-born Canadian actor A.J. Buckley began his acting career in on the series The Odyssey but established his name on television as Adam Ross on CSI: New York. He is also credited for films like Disturbing Behavior and Extreme Days. On SEAL Team, he plays Sonny, the loyal soldier with a colorful past who struggles with his self-destructive tendencies.

Jessica Pare as Mandy Ellis


Canadian actress and singer Jessica Pare is best known for playing Megan Draper on the AMC series Mad Men. She also appeared on Stardom, Wicker Park, Hot Tub Time Machine and Brooklyn. At present, she plays CIA analyst Mandy Ellis on SEAL Team. Pare’s character’s work is integral to the team’s success as she has made taking down terrorists her number one priority.

Toni Trucks as Davis


Toni Trucks made her television debut as the female lead on Showtime’s acclaimed comedy series Barbershop. On the big screen, she appeared on Dreamgirls, Weapons and Music and Lyrics. As part of SEAL Team, she plays Davis, the unofficial den mother of the team. She is described as a no-nonsense logistics officer who is in charge of outfitting the team with necessary gear for each mission.
