Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 Teaser: Are Amelia and Owen Having a Baby?>>>

Season 13 Premiere

When we last saw Grey’s Anatomy, Amelia and Owen tied the knot, Jo and Alex had a fight while Meredith slept with Nathan and her sister Maggie declared her feelings for the same man.

In the 13th season opener entitled “Undo,” the doctors will be forced to face the consequences of their actions. “When one of Grey Sloan’s own lands in the hospital, Bailey tries to figure out what happened while the rest of the doctors jump in to help. Meredith juggles huge secrets that affect her relationships with Alex and Maggie. While Richard helps Jo with a big decision, April and Catherine clash over the new baby,” the official synopsis reads.

But there’s more to the season 13 premiere than what’s being teased in the synopsis. Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia, reveals that the first episode of the season will immediately pick up after the season 12 finale and there will be emotionally explosive drama.

“Immediately on the tail of Amelia and Owen’s wedding, there’s a big explosive drama that’s happening right away,” she told The Hollywood Reporter, adding that it doesn’t have anything to do with Amelia and Owen, who will be busy on their wedding night. “On Grey’s Anatomy it could be a literal explosion, but in this case, it’s emotionally explosive. It’s going to be a key story this year that a lot of people are going to be interested in.”

In true Shonda Rhimes’ fashion, there might even be room for murder. The first teaser of the season features Andrew fighting for his life after being beaten up by Alex.

“You think nobody’s going to realize this is you?” Meredith tells Alex, who’s nursing his bloody knuckles. “You could go to jail!”

Arizona’s New Love Interest

Arizona will finally find love in the upcoming season. “We’re absolutely going to see it,” Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly. “Jessica [Capshaw] was very, very delightfully pregnant at the end of last year, and so she’s not in the first two episodes — which everybody brace yourselves for — because she’s taking a little bit of time off for kids, but then she’s back. I’m very excited to introduce a love interest for her, and to get to tell a story with her that lets her be who she is, and to see who she is post the relationships that she’s had.”

Fans will have to tune in to see who Arizona’s love interest will be since Rhimes won’t reveal the identity but the executive producer promises that the relationship won’t be forced.

“You don’t want to just stick two people together,” Rhimes said. “I want to do it organically and I want the audience to be rooting for it. So I think we’re going to have fun with it.”

Jackson and April’s Lighter Arc

Estranged spouses Jackson and April will finally catch a break, sort of. Rhimes tells Entertainment Weekly that season 13 will explore “in a much lighter way, what it means” for the first-time parents “to be uncoupled, to be divorced, and to have a kid.”

“They’re going to really try to do this in a healthy way,” said Rhimes of the couple who spent most of season 12 in a shouting match. “[But] is that healthy way going to feel so healthy when they still have feelings for each other?”

Grey’s Anatomy: The Complete 12th Season

While the drama gets pretty heavy on Grey’s Anatomy, the mood behind the scenes couldn’t be lighter. Just check out the Grey’s Anatomy: The Complete 12th Season DVD, which shows the lighter side of the cast. The gag reel, which was first reported by E! News, shows Ellen Pompeo turning some medical term into “artichoke dip,” Justin Chambers making a request for “two lobers” and Samantha Sloyan butchering her lines.
