Natalie Coughlin’s elimination from Dancing with the Stars is still shocking fans, but it’s time for the nine remaining couples to prepare for another grueling week.  Not only will the couples face either the Waltz or the Jitterbug in week 6, but they also have to deal with a Mambo Marathon, a double elimination and a dance-off.

But who’s doing what dance next week on Dancing with the Stars, and who has the best track record for success?  Let’s preview week 6.

Waltz
Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff
Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas
Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova
Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough

So basically, they took the three couples that were in jeopardy from week 5 and low scorer Michael Irvin and gave them all the Waltz.  Dancing with the Stars replaced the Waltz with the more specific Viennese Waltz after season 4, but last year they brought the more generic Waltz back.

In week 1, Aaron and Michael participated in the Viennese Waltz relay, with Aaron finishing on top, but after two weeks in the bottom 2, Aaron is going to need an incredibly high score to avoid the double elimination.  Michael finished third, but since he can avoid the bottom 4 even with the absolute lowest score, it will take a lot to keep him out.

Melissa should hope that her Waltz will be a lot better than the 18 she got for her week 1 Viennese Waltz.  Joanna might be able to breathe easy as Derek typically scores 9s and 10s whenever he has a Waltz of any kind.

Jitterbug
Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer
Mya and Dmitry Chaplin
Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson
Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower

The Jitterbug has only appeared on Dancing with the Stars in season 7, so there isn’t a lot of history with it, but the scores have been very high.  In season 7, it was performed five times.  In week 5, Derek ad Julianne Hough did the Jitterbug with their partners Brooke Burke and Cody Linley, scoring a 29 and 28, respectively.  In week 9, Lacey Schwimmer and Lance Bass scored a 29 while Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson got a 25, and then Lacey and Lance did it again for the finale and scored a 28.

So the edge has to go to Lacey since the Jitterbug is a swing dance, and West Coast Swing is her specialty.  However, Mya has proven brilliant at everything, and Kelly and Donny both won over their audience with their similarly peppy Charlestons.  Sorry Louie, but that makes you the odd man out in the Jitterbug department.

Who Will Get the Highest Score?
While Mya, Donny, Kelly and Mark could all give fun Jitterbugs, I think a Waltz could win the night, and I predict Joanna and Derek will dance right back to the top with a 28.  So who do you think will give the best performance during week 6 of Dancing with the Stars?
