I’m done. Sure, I’ll keep watching Big Brother 12 until the end, but after the utter nonsense of this week and the sheer stupidity of my favorite HG, I feel like I did when Jeff was evicted last season. Keep reading to find out why.
SPOILER WARNING: This articles contains Big Brother 12 spoilers.
Brendon won the Power of Veto and saved himself.
Britney nominated Matt in his place.
In other words, Matt will be the first person evicted on this week’s double eviction. I’m clearly on Matt’s side, but even I have to admit that his eminent eviction is largely his own fault. After playing a smart game for most of the season, the last week has been dreadful for him.
Ironically, the main reason he’s nominated is probably his loyalty. Despite the fact that the Brigade wanted to evict him last week, he was still loyal to them and, after Brendon won the Veto, Matt tried to get the Brigade on board with getting Britney to nominate Ragan, Matt’s best friend in the house.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Brigade was working overtime getting Britney to put Matt up because he’s a shady character who is willing to backstab anyone. This is just one of the many things that offend me this week. Matt is loyal to a fault with his original alliance and he’s being torn down because of it. In my world, that makes Hayden, Enzo and Lane the real backstabbers.
And I could live with it if they would be honest with themselves about it, but Hayden, Enzo and Lane, even in private, seem to genuinely doubt Matt’s loyalty. They see themselves as heroes, getting rid of Matt before he gets rid of them, not realizing that Matt would keep the Brigade in tact to the final four.
Another thing I can’t stand about the Matt-less Brigade is the way they’re willing to lie about him. They’re telling Britney that he’s definitely the Saboteur (this just one day after Enzo was 100 percent certain Kathy was the Saboteur) and that, during this week’s Power of Veto competition, Matt won $5,000 and a trip to Hawaii.
We obviously know he’s NOT the Saboteur, and Enzo and Lane know that Matt didn’t win those prizes because Hayden confessed to them that he did. So Enzo, Hayden and Lane are willing to blatantly lie about Matt to try and get him evicted. Sure, Matt is also lying about his wife’s fake illness, but that’s a lie about himself. He’s not purposefully spreading lies about other HGs.
To make me even angrier, after a season where the HoH largely did whatever he or she thought was right, this week Britney is getting steamrolled and letting the house use and manipulate her for their own goals. Lane, Enzo, Hayden and Brendon are essentially quadruple-teaming her to get Matt out, making her think that their opinion is hers.
They tell her that evicting Matt is a huge power move, but it’s the opposite. Nominating Matt makes Britney a useless patsy, a cog in their machine who can disposed of at any time. It’s also a false premise to say that Matt is some unbeatable competitor in this game. This season the jury will be full of idiots who play personally and not strategically (Kathy and Brendon being at the top of the list).
If Britney went against Hayden in the finale, he would be guaranteed Brendon, Rachel, Kathy and Enzo, winning the money. If she went up against Matt in the finale, those votes would all be up for debate.
Right now, even though everyone says that Matt is playing the best game, the real player is Hayden. He’s friends with everyone, which is a lot scarier than someone with a huge target on his back.
