A siren casts a spell on Sam and Dean while they are on a mission in Iowa which leads them to some very dangerous and violent behavior.

Then: Castiel warned Dean about Sam‘s dangerous new hobby with Ruby and Sam was upset that Dean didn‘t realize he was trying to do good.Now: Supernatural kicks off with a man coming home late from work and getting into a pretty typical argument with his wife. Then he bludgeons her to death with a meat tenderizer. Sam (Jared Padalecki) learns about this case, the third such incident of a happy husband killing his wife.
