Canadian actress Suleka Mathew was born in Kerala, India, and has worked extensively as a professional actress in film, television, radio and theatre for over seventeen years. By the age of ten, the theater allowed her to blossom and proved to be a tremendous creative outlet that sustained her throughout elementary and high school. Television audiences know Mathew for her role as Dr. Sunita "Sunny" Ramen on the acclaimed and award-winning Canadian dramatic series, Da Vinci's Inquest. An international hit, the series has also made its syndicated debut in the United States. She also had a recurring role, on the Emmy Award-winning The West Wing, as well as Stephen King's Dead Zone.
Suleka Mathew made her television debut in two episodes of MacGyver in 1989. This was followed by roles in 21 Jump Street and Neon Rider, before she landed a small part in Chuck Norris’ The Hitman. Mathew later made appearances in Dangerous Indiscretion, A Family Divided, an episode of Highlander, and two episodes of The X Files. She continued her string of guest roles during the late 1990s, and soon landed a role in the family film Bear with Me. She was later cast in the drama Lola, as well as in episodes of Dark Angel and Stargate SG-1. Her next performance was in the romantic drama Life or Something Like It, starring Angelina Jolie, Edward Burns, Tony Shalhoub and Christian Kane. Other TV credits of Mathew’s include roles in Battlestar Galactica, The Eleventh Hour, and the made-for-television movie A Crime of Passion. In 2004, she got a role in the romance Touch of Pink, and was cast in the drama The Score during the next year. She has also co-starred in Hallmark Entertainment's sci-fi miniseries Final Days of the Planet Earth and played the role of Sara in the TV series "Men In Trees".
