Sophia Bush as
Brooke Davis Born on July 8, 1982 and raised in Pasadena, California as an only child of Charles William Bush and his wife Maureen, Sophia Anna Bush was educated at Westridge School for Girls and University of Southern California. Her father is one of the top advertising and celebrity photographers in the United States and her mother is a photography studio manager.
Bush began acting when she was in high school, since it was a requirement for the students. She was initially irritated at the fact that they had to do stage productions, but later fell in love with acting. In 2000, she was crowned the Pasadena Rose Queen and moved on to attend college. Two years later, she was cast for the role of Sally in the film Van Wilder, consequently appearing in HBO's Point of Origin and the independent feature film, Learning Curves.
Bush also had guest appearances on Sabrina the Teenage Witch and
Nip/Tuck , which led her to land a role in the teen drama, One Tree Hill. As she was working on One Tree Hill, she also landed various projects on films such as Supercross, Stay Alive, John Tucker Must Die and The Hitcher.
UGO.com talked to Bush about her work on the film The Hitcher, and she said, "I think we just wanted to make something that fans of the original would really enjoy, and we paid homage to the original movie. But I think we definitely made enough twists and took enough liberties making certain things more realistic and a little more time sensitive for what is appropriate today. People who love the first one can still be surprised watching our version and still have that nostalgia of the first movie they enjoyed so much."
In April 2005, Bush married One Tree Hill co-star
Chad Michael Murray but Bush filed for annulment after six months.
Sophia Bush currently lives in Wilmington, North Carolina (where she is One Tree Hill is filmed) with co-star Bevin Prince (who plays Bevin Mirskey in the series).
