Biography

Born on October 13, 1987 in Newport, Rhode Island, Ashley Newbrough is a film and television actress. She studied at St. Benedicts Secondary School in Cambridge, Ontario where she was given the “Most Likely to Become a Superstar” Award during her graduation assembly.

Ashley Newbrough began her career at the age of ten, appearing in a number of commercials worldwide. She landed her first starring role on the Fox Family Channel’s series The Zack Files, playing Alice alongside Robert Clark, Jeff Clarke, Michael Seater and Jake Epstein. She then landed roles in television movies, including a minor one in family film Get A Clue starring Lindsay Lohan and Brenda Song. Newbrough was then given her first lead role in the 2004 drama The Coven. Her next role was in an episode of 1-800 Missing. She then landed a recurring role in the drama Radio Free Roscoe, and was also on Degrassi: The Next Generation as Melinda. She was given her big break in the 2007 film, Kaw, where she played Doris opposite Sean Patrick Flannery and Rod Taylor. Her other television credits include roles in the series The Best Years, and playing Dallas in the Canadian sport comedy Rent-A-Goalie in 2006. She also worked on The Perfect Man starring Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear, but Newbrough’s scenes were not included in the film. In 2008, she landed the role of Sage Baker in The CW’s drama series Privileged. Sage Baker is the twin sister of Rose, played by Lucy Hale, and both of them are spoiled rich girls who continue to wreak havoc towards their tutor, Megan Smith, played by JoAnna Garcia. Sage and Rose are the granddaughters of cosmetics mogul Laurel Limoges, portrayed by Anne Archer. The optimistic Yale-graduate Megan is determined to win the two over, but the twins are determined to send her away.
