You know you've arrived as a pop cultural icon when you're spoofed by The Simpsons. Well, they may be a little late in the game on this pop culture gem, but they are taking a stab at it anyway. In the 21 installment of The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror special will take aim at the two hottest things in popular culture right now: Vampires and Twilight.

In the episode titled "Tweenlight," Lisa becomes smitten with a new mysterious, pale, brooding student, Edmund (get it, not Edward). Edmund (voiced by another pop culture phenomenon: Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe) has a dark reason for his appeal, he's a vampire. Lisa falls for Edmund and the pair run away together to "Dracula-la Land" (I don't get the reference). Homer sets off to rescue Lisa before she gives in to Edmunds charms completely and turns into a vampire herself.

Twilight is available on Amazon Prime.

The storyline seems pretty run-of-the-mill, but if anyone can capture the essence of a phenomenon and provide biting social commentary as well as silly gags, it has to be The Simpsons. The only problem is that we will have to wait until Nov. 7 to actually see it (dang you baseball).

As is common with the Treehouse of Horror episodes, there will be two other scary stories as well. This year's other offerings are: "War and Pieces," about a demonic board game; and "Master and Cadaver," set on the high sea with Hugh Laurie voicing a mysterious drifter.

Now in it's 21 installment, Treehouse of Horror is absolutely a Halloween tradition. Are you excited to see what shots The Simpsons will take at the Twilight craze, or could you care less? Let me know below.
