
NBC has initially picked up 13 episodes of a new drama about a detective who is given a second chance. The said pilot is entitled
Life, which will be taking up the Wednesday niche at 10/9c as part of the network’s fall lineup.
Life follows the life of detective Charlie Crews as he returns to the force after spending years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Now, he returns and struggles in a world that has moved on without him, while brining in a new found philosophy.

Melissa Sagemiller stars as Constance Griffiths, Charlie Crews’ close friend and attorney who got him out of prison and has a special chemistry with him despite her being married. Sagemiller is known for films like
Sorority Boys, Get Over It, Life on the Edge, and on the television series
Sleeper Cell.
Robin Weigert stars as Lt. Davis, Charlie Crews’ boss. Weigert has appeared on numerous television shows like
Deadwood,
Cold Case,
Judging Amy and
NYPD Blue among others.
Adam Arkin stars as Ted Early, Charlie Crews’ former cellmate. Arkin is known for appearing on
Northern Exposure, Fraiser, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, and
Chicago Hope.
