David Zayas previously joined the Air Force and worked as a NYC policeman. Eventually, he took up some acting classes and became a member of the LAByrinth Theater Company. He landed roles on television shows, often landing cop roles. As an actor, he was popularly known for his inclusion in the series Oz. Ultimately, he became part of the television series Dexter as Angel Batista.
Angel Batista is a homicide detective who works with
Dexter during the day. He is passionate about his work and very much appreciates the art of murder but does not have the same interest with blood like Dexter. At present, he is still dealing with his painful separation from his wife.
