has found herself in the middle of yet another controversy. Following her ex-boyfriend's tell-all book that promises to expose her spiteful relationship with Nicklas Soderblom, not to mention her bitter ties with her co-stars on Desperate Housewives
, the 44-year-old actress is now rumored to be leaving ABC's award-winning dramedy.
Rumors surged the internet when Desperate Housewives
creator Marc Cherry revealed that Sheridan's character will be crossing a huge moral boundary that she's never crossed before on the show.
“It will have devastating consequences for her and lead to a shocking conclusion to her time on Wisteria Lane,” Cherry said.
In attempt to break her silence, Sheridan has laughed off rumors that she has been fired at the end of the fifth season of Desperate Housewives
in which she plays realtor Edie Britt. On the contrary, she insists that her character is getting prepared for some explosive storylines, hinting that she will be the only star left on the series.
"Please! Edie's going to be causing trouble. The house hags have done terrible, terrible things to Edie," Sheridan revealed. "There will only be one moment of true revenge when all of them are gone, and Edie remains!"
Sheridan, who had her career breakthrough as Paige Matheson on the CBS night soap Knots Landing
, was initially offered a minor role on Desperate Housewives
. But since her character became popular, she was elevated to become the fifth lead character on the show, following Teri Hatcher
, Eva Longoria
, Marcia Cross
, and Felicity Huffman
Meanwhile, fans can catch Desperate Housewives
