Summary

HBO's innovative stab at meta-fictional comedy, Curb Your Enthusiasm features former SNL and Seinfeld writer Larry David playing himself, cast against a variety of real and fictional characters. Curb Your Enthusiasm is based on the HBO special Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm. Curb Your Enthusiasm gives self-indulgence a wide berth, becoming less a comedy of the life of a Hollywood writer, and more of an intelligent and thought provoking expose on the human condition.

'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Season 6 Finale Airs Tonight

November 11, 2007

curb your enthusiasmAfter nine humor-filled episodes, HBO is set to air the final episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm's sixth season.  Tonight, fans can finally see how the sitcom concludes in the episode entitled “The Bat Mitzvah,” which airs at 10pm on HBO.

Created and starring Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm is a comedy series loosely based on David's life as a semi-retired multi-millionaire after the long-running sitcom Seinfeld.  With a theme similar to that of Seinfeld's, which is “a show about nothing,” the series unconventionally eschews traditional scripts in favor of actors' improvised dialogues.  It centers on Larry's interaction with his wife Cheryl, played by Cheryl Hines, his loyal manager Jeff Green, played by Jeff Garlin and Jeff's outburst-prone wife Susie, portrayed by Susie Essman.

"I'm not finished yet!" he jokingly told The Daily Free Press.  "Every once in a while, I'll get the compliment, 'You were a great comedian.' Wait a minute! Take out the 'were' and we'll talk."

Broadcast on Bravo, Better Half features spouses/mates of two trained professionals such as chefs, comedians, party planners, and hairstylists as they square off in competition.  With only two days to coach, they train their novice partner to take on their jobs and beat the opposing “better half” in a final challenge.  In each episode, three judges who are noted in the featured line of work will evaluate how well each couple executed the job handoff.  The new series, which debuted on October 3, features the Curb star as the outspoken host that will critique how the couples listen and learn from each other.
