BuddyTV interviews The Cheetah Girls, the well known act from Disney.

Disney’s The Cheetah Girls are a musical group that have been together for five years now, releasing albums, movies, clothing lines, and heading out on tour to perform and meet their fans.  Their most popular movie to date is The Cheetah Girls: One World, which gave way to a hit album and a national tour that kicks off tomorrow.  The trio will kick things off in Austin, Texas and head around the country, wrapping things up in California this December.  Today, the entire group – Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan, and Kiely Williams – took time out of their busy rehearsal schedule to talk to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview.  Read on to find out what the girls are most excited about and like to do for fun on The Cheetah Girls: One World tour!

Below, you will find the complete transcript and mp3 of the interview.

This year, you guys released Cheetah Girls: One World, the movie. How did the idea come up to have it set mostly in India?

Adrienne: We were really, really excited about being able to film a movie in India. We actually found out that when the Disney Channel launched internationally, their biggest response came from India. They love musicals. There’s the whole Bollywood out there, you know – all their Bollywood films are musicals and they have dancing and singing in them, very vibrant, a lot like the Disney Channel. So they thought it would be a perfect place for The Cheetah Girls to go, especially since we traveled on our second movie, all the way to Barcelona, they thought it would be amazing to go to another country again.

Does it make you guys proud that you teach your fans styles of music and sounds that maybe they weren’t familiar with?

Sabrina: Yeah, it’s exciting to be able to open new doors for our fans and give them a taste of different cultures and new styles of music. Of course, obviously the music is extremely important to us. We love bringing that into their lifestyle.

You guys are getting ready to head out on your tour and it’s just a jam packed schedule. How do you prepare for something like this?

Kiely: We’ve been in rehearsal for the past month. For the past week and a half, we’ve been doing tech rehearsals, which is basically when you kind of put the show all together. You know, you go to dance rehearsal and you do a song but for the past week and a half, we’ve been running it on the stage with lighting and all that stuff so that tomorrow night, when we do our first real performance, it’s going to be fantastic. I think we put together a great song. I cannot wait for the fans to see it. I think it’s gonna blow their mind!

It looks like it’s going to be a really high energy show. How do you guys keep your stamina going the whole time?

Kiely: We’re honestly just so excited to be hitting the road again. We love performing as a group collectively. That is our favorite thing to do. Once we see the fans and we hear them screaming the cheetah chant, it gives us all the energy to perform for however long they keep screaming.

Adrienne: Yeah, we totally feed off their energy.

Do you guys get the opportunity to meet your fans when you’re out on the road?

Adrienne: Definitely! At every single show, we do meet and greets, which is great to actually get to meet the fans and talk to them. We do it right before we hit the stage and it’s just so exciting to see how excited they are to see the show and they get us really, really revved up to get on that stage and give an amazing performance.

The three of you have been together for some time now. How do you guys get along? Is it like a sisterly relationship?

Sabrina: Yeah, we get along really well. We’re so fortunate to balance each other out. All three of us have completely different personalities. We have completely different likes and interests. We come from different parts – Adrienne is from New York, Kiely’s from Jersey, I’m from southern California. When we come together, it’s just a natural blend. It’s amazing to be able to work people that you truly, truly love and we have had the opportunity to go all over the world together.

Do the three of you pursue your own individual projects or do you guys always stick together?

Kiely: We do! We actually are all supporting and promoting different projects. Sabrina actually has a book that’s out today, it’s called “The Princess of Gossip” and we’re all so excited! She’s an author and I just think it’s really, really cool that we can do separate things. Adrienne is working on a solo project. I have done a movie that came out a few months ago. It’s great that we can pursue separate projects and then still come back together, to do a tour, to make a movie, an album. I think that is one of the coolest parts about being in this group.

What are you guys most looking forward to about being on this tour?

Adrienne: The bus! We love just traveling together and touring together. We get our bus tomorrow. We’re so excited. We went and got our bedding for our beds and just living together, hanging out together and also, getting to meet our fans is so exciting.

Sabrina: I’m like the psycho mom, as far as taking pictures. I’m always like, “Turn around and smile!”

What do you guys do for fun on the tour bus when you’re out on the road?

Kiely: Games and DVDs, movies marathons. We love doing movie marathons.

Sabrina: I’m also excited about Grey’s Anatomy. It’s my favorite show and I am so excited that two days from now is when I get to see the next episode.

I know you guys have tons of fans and I’m just wondering if there’s anything you’d like to say to them.

All: Just – thank you so much. We love you so much. Stay cheetah-licious!

Thank you guys so much and good luck on your tour.

All: Thank you.
