A few months ago, many people were buzzing over the cover of National Enquirer which seems to suggest that Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney Spears’ younger sister and star of Zoey 101, is pregnant.  On the other hand, the controversy does not even bother the 16-year-old actress.  In fact, Spears is very much aware that many youngsters nowadays get easily sucked in the pitfalls of show business.

“You know, the only thing that I was worried about was people thought I was fat. Everybody thinks I’m fat,” Spears told Newsweek earlier this month.  “That was seriously the only thing I was worried about.  My mom, everyone knew it was completely untrue.  So I was just like, ‘Everyone thinks I’m fat?’”

When asked if she’s seeing anyone special right now, she said, “No, kind of hanging out.  I have good, close friends, but nothing serious.”

As reported previously, Spears, who’s been juggling acting on Zoey 101 and being home schooled, tries to avoid becoming a victim of gossip by staying at home most of the time and by not doing anything stupid that will jeopardize her career.  She also reveals that having her mom by her side helps in keeping her focused and grounded.

“My mom has to go everywhere with me.  Especially in this business you have to have your mom with you.  Sometimes we’ll fuss and fight about the stupidest stuff because we’re with each other 24/7.  I know I couldn’t do it without her,” the Zoey star said.

At present, Spears stars as Zoey Brooks, the down to earth and independent teenager who usually saves the day at Pacific Coast Academy, despite getting into some pretty sticky antics on Zoey 101. She stars alongside Sean Flynn, who plays Chase Matthews, Victoria Justice, who plays Lola Martinez, Christopher Massey, who portrays Michael Barret, Erin Sanders, who plays Quinn Pensky, Matthew Underwood, who stars as Logan Reese, and Paul Butcher, who plays Dustin Brooks.
