What Is “Ridiculousness” About?

“Ridiculousness” is an American comedy television show that showcases the funniest viral videos sourced from the internet.

The host, Rob Dyrdek, alongside co-hosts — Chanel West Coast and Sterling “Steelo” Brim – play clips of largely failed do-it-yourself stunt videos – to which they comically commentate. Routinely, the show also features a lineup of celebrity guests who share their thoughts on the videos.

“Ridiculousness” has received a wide viewership, and the franchise has grown over the years, even adding three spin-offs: “Adorableness,” “Messyness,” and “Deliciousness.” In fact, a New York Times study in 2016 revealed that “Ridiculousness” was the 13th most-watched show in the United States. It’s no wonder so many watch marathons of this show on MTV. The report revealed that the show had increased popularity in places like New Mexico, Montana, and rural Alaska.

The title “Ridiculousness” is most likely a reflection of the kinds of stunts aired on the clip show. Although, characteristically it’s not unusual to find comedy shows that go by far-out titles such as “Amazingness”, “Deliciousness,” “Adorableness,” “Messyness,” and this one — “Ridiculousness.” But hypothetically, what other title could better describe some of the provocative and absurd stunts you get to see on the show? Our pick would probably be “Absolute Ridiculousness,” but honestly – “Ridiculousness” does the trick.

How Many “Ridiculousness” Seasons and Episodes Are There?

The first episode of the show was aired on August 29, 2011. Over the years, there have been at least 700 episodes across 23 seasons — and still counting.

Is “Ridiculousness” Canceled?

The last episode of the show aired by MTV is season 23 episode 10. There have been no new episodes since then.

The producers of the show (Superjacket Productions) recently announced that “Ridiculousness” spin-offs “Deliciousness” and “Messyness” would renew for a third and second season consecutively. However, there was no update about whether or not “Ridiculousness” had been canceled.
