Yesterday we announced that a powerful new villain named Alastair will soon be stirring up trouble for the Winchester brothers on Supernatural.  According to Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello, the character is described as a “calm and composed demon with a placid smile that belies his simmering sadism and evil.”  Alastair is bound to be one in a long line of memorable baddies the brothers have faced over the years.

The addition of Alastair made me think back to the other creepy villains the Winchesters have faced since Supernatural‘s first season.  I can’t decide which is the best baddie of them all, so I’m asking Supernatural fans to cast a vote for the most memorable villain to ever wreak havoc on the series.

There’d be far too many villains to choose from if I went with every monster or demon that’s ever appeared on the series, so I made a quick rule: the villain had to appear in at least two episodes to make the cut.  I also left out Ruby and Bela, mainly because neither character falls strictly into the villain category.  Using that criteria, here are the nefarious nogoodniks that made the cut:

Yellow-Eyed Demon: The villain that ruined the lives of the Winchester family is definitely scary, but is he the most evil and memorable of them all?

Meg: She may have been an innocent girl on the outside, but on the inside she was pure evil.

Gordon: One of the most interesting, tragic characters in Supernatural‘s history.

Crossroads Demon: How many innocent souls did she collect over the years?

Lilith: Any demon leader that wants to raise Lucifer from Hell shouldn’t be messed with.

Trickster: He may seem minor in the grand scheme of things, but he did kill Dean about a hundred times in “Mystery Spot.”

Jake: Jake started off as a special kid, but with a little bit of prompting from the Yellow-Eyed Demon he murdered Sam in cold blood.

You can vote for your favorite Supernatural villain by clicking on the showdown below.  The showdown will pit two random characters against one another until only one is left standing.  Voting will close on Sunday, and on Monday, October 27 I’ll reveal who fans have crowned the best Supernatural villain of all time.

Are there any villains left out of the poll that you think should have been included?  Sound off in the comments section below.
