Vera Wang has acknowledged rumors that she has been invited to join the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars. If Wang decides to join the show, this won’t be her first attempt on TV. She has appeared on Project Runway as a guest judge in 2006, has appeared as herself in an episode of Ugly Betty in 2007, as well as graced the competitive reality series, The Apprentice last year.
However, the 59-year-old fashion designer hasn’t signed a contract with the show just yet, citing her busy schedule producing a pair of fashion shows set for September and October as reasons she may not want to dance.
“Part of me does want to do it [and] part of me doesn’t,” Wang told People.
On the other hand, Wang isn’t closing her doors just yet as she is still considering competing on Dancing with the Stars.
“I don’t know yet…They talked to me [and] they talked to a lot of other people,” Wang said. “I was very flattered.”
Whether or not it’s actually going to happen, Wang has already hinted of what viewers can expect if she does hit the dance floor.
“I’m okay,” Wang said of her dancing skills. “I’m not spectacular. I’m not a ballroom dancer — I’m free form.”
And now that the first possible participant of season 9 has already been leaked, fans can expect other contenders to gradually surface the internet as we draw closer to the premiere. Dancing with the Stars‘ ninth season is scheduled to kick off on Monday, September 21 at 8PM ET/PT. For now, fans will have to wait for ABC’s official announcement regarding the season’s cast in August.
