Fans of USA Network’s newest drama can rest easy. Colony is coming back for season 2. Colony hasn’t been quite as successful as Mr. Robot, numbers-wise, which was renewed for a second season before USA even aired the first episode but it’s still a strong vote of confidence. The Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal drama will be able to explore a second year of life under Colony‘s oppressive alien regime.

The president of the USA network, Chris McCumber, spoke about Colony, “Carlton and Ryan have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided. Colony‘s performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can’t wait to see where the story takes us.”

If you’ve been waiting to hear if Colony will get renewed there is plenty of time to catch up now. Three episodes have aired so far and the season as a whole will only consist of ten episodes. There’s no word yet on when or how long the second season of Colony will be but it’s probable it will be very similar to the first season.

Colony is the story of a family lead by Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies that is being torn apart figuratively and literally. One of the sons has been separated from the family after a devastating alien invasion. The parents are desperate and have very differing ideologies how to get their son back home and safe.

Colony airs Thursdays at 10pm on USA.
