In less than two weeks, True Blood will wrap up its second season, possibly leaving us with yet another cliffhanging mystery arc for season 3. But before we even go there, we first need to solve Bon Temps’ main problem: Maenad Maryann! Based on Queen Sophie-Ann’s revelation last week, maenads are stupid supernatural beings hoping to find the perfect vessel which will summon their God so that they can be ravished and devoured, literally. And the only way to beat Maryann is to attack her when she’s in her “frenzied” mode.

Obviously, taking down Maryann won’t be easy. And if you’ve seen HBO’s preview of True Blood‘s second season finale, you’d know that someone’s life is on the line.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead!!!

So who will make the ultimate sacrifice? It looks like it’s going to be Sam Merlotte this time, according to the video below. The short clip alone gives you an idea that Bill will be taking the chaos of Bon Temps into his own hands, seemingly sacrificing Sam to get rid of Maryann.

Somehow, I don’t think the show is going to kill off Sam, at least not anytime soon. Aside from being one of the main characters of True Blood, his shape shifting-nature alone remains a big mystery and there are still a lot of things we don’t know about him. Perhaps this is just some kind of ploy to catch Maryann off guard? Does this mean Sam lives and another character dies? Or will it be one those finales where no one else dies? I don’t think it’s the latter, though. I still think a character that has run its course is going to be killed off and my money’s on Eggs.
