Just as I thought! I speculated earlier that Tila Tequila and her chosen suitor from A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, Bobby Banhart, were broken up, or at least headed there very shortly. After all, her pre-New Year’s Eve MySpace video blog didn’t even mention him once.

But now, after Tila’s announcement of their breakup when she hosted MTV’s New Year’s Masquerade 2008, it has become a classic case of he said/she said, a battle of the MySpaces.

Here’s what she wrote on her MySpace:

“[New Year’s Eve] was amazing except for the fact that Bobby had broken up with me a few days before all of this went down. I wasn’t expecting it at all because I thought I had finally found someone that I was compatible with, but I guess I was wrong. My hectic schedule was really hard on him and we both were getting frustrated, but at the same time…..I just wanted to find someone who would understand what a crazy lifestyle I have so it’s too bad that things didn’t work out between us. With that said I just want to make it known that I still think Bobby is a great guy and I wish him the best.”

To defend himself, the orthographically-challenged winner of the first season of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila has allegedly written on his MySpace blog:

“well everyone wants to know so here it is she never called me after the last show and no one would give me her number so pretty much I feel like and ass but we are not 2gather u cant have a realationship bye urself ya know so now you all know and sometimes no matter how bad you want things to work out they dont and theres nothing you can do i tryed… thank you all.”

So who’s telling the truth?

My sympathies have to lie with Bobby. For reals. The timing of the announcement she made on New Year’s Eve, that she’d be coming back for a second season of A Shot at Love, seems all too convenient to be a coincidence. Tila has made a name for herself despite her dubious career in “singing” and “modeling,” and I can’t imagine that she could pass up an opportunity to have yet another round of episodes (set for some time this spring on MTV) in which she is the center of attention. My guess is that the second season was in the works long ago, and Tila never intended to pursue a relationship with Bobby. The only thing I can say about this now is that, given how Tila’s “relationship” with Bobby transpired, the cast of season 2 of A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila will probably be populated even more by narcissistic famewhores, again both straight males and gay females, who are only looking for their shot at being on TV.

Hey, Bobby, if you’re reading this, give BuddyTV a call! We’d love to interview you and hear your side of the story!
