The lives of the Kardashians are pretty much an open book thanks to their reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. However, not everyone knows about the real deal way before the cameras started rolling and the media fed on socialite Kim Kardashian’s sex tape blunder. In fact, the network that brought us the crazy reality show is now taking a different angle on the Kardashians, who have entertained and amused us for the past couple of seasons.

E! True Hollywood Story will be featuring the Kardashian family on April 4 at 9pm. Read on for a sneak peak into the lives of the Kardashians before the guest appearances, magazine covers and reality stints.

The Kardashian sisters are the offspring of Kris and Robert Kardashian, a defense attorney who was famous for acquitting O.J. Simpson of murder charges involving Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole Brown. In fact, Khloe Kardashian recalls that the Simpsons were indeed family friends of the Kardashians.

“O.J. was always our ‘Uncle O.J.,'” Khloe said. “Nicole was my ‘Auntie Nicole.’ You don’t really know what to believe or how to perceive it.”

However, in 1989, before the trial commenced, Kris and Robert Kardashian filed for a divorce and consequently separated. The Kardashians would still attend the hearings, with Kris and Bruce Jenner, who were later married in 1991.

“Kourtney and I would go to the trial with my dad and we’d sit on one side and I remember looking over and my mom was on the other side sitting next to Nicole’s parents, and it was so much tension,” Kim recounted. “If we’re siding with this one, then my mom and Bruce are upset, and if we’re over here, then my dad’s upset.”

The Kardashians: E! True Hollywood Story will also be featuring Kim’s extended family of four step-brothers and sisters, her previous affair with music producer Damon Thomas, and her current relationship with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush.

In other Kardashians news, Kim and Bruce recently visited US Magazine to chat about her assets.

“I have no idea where this all attention came from. I have always dressed the same – it’s nothing new,” Kim replied when asked to comment about the attention that her backside has been getting. “I think people just started picking up on it – I don’t even know how it happened. And there are all these rumors about whether it’s fake or if it’s real.”

Kim also commented about the comparisons of her bump to that of singer/actress Jennifer Lopez.

“The comparison to Jennifer Lopez is amazing – she’s my idol and I’m flattered and I’m honored,” she said. “It’s just kind of funny – you just have to have a good sense of humor about it.”

Jennifer Lopez was not one to kid around her bum, as she had it insured for . When asked if Kim would ever insure her assets, she replied, “I have not insured it yet, but I think I should look into that.
