After taking separate paths for nearly three years, Stephen Colletti is reportedly rekindling his high school romance with former Laguna Beach costar, Lauren Conrad, who can now be seen on MTV’s The Hills.

The noise about Conrad and Colletti’s alleged relationship surfaced the news when the two were spotted at Opera in L.A. for a Hornitos Tequila launch last month, as well as on several other occasions. Both refused to speak to the press about their so-called affair, which even prompted spectators to think that the two have something to hide.

“Stephen and Lauren definitely looked like an item, ” a source told Star.  “They hung out together the entire time and at one point, Stephen grabbed Lauren and took her out to the dance floor, where they danced to the song ‘One More Time.’  They were laughing and flirting.  They looked really happy and cute together.”

The Hills star hooked up with Colletti on the reality series, Laguna Beach, where Colletti was constantly stuck in an ongoing love triangle between Conrad and Kristin Cavallari. Eventually, Conrad moved on and focused her attention on costar Jason Wahler.  After an on-again off-again relationship with Wahler, she had a short-lived romance with Brody Jenner, who also previously dated Kristin Cavallari.

As for Colletti, he was most recently involved with Heroes actress, Hayden Panettiere.  The two began dating in the summer of 2006 after Colletti called it quits with Cavallari.  According to a source of Us Weekly, “Their breakup has been a long time coming.”

Despite their breakup, Colletti and Panettiere remain to be “very close friends” and “talk to each other frequently, and appreciate and support each other’s careers.”

Fans can catch Conrad on the third season of The Hills every Monday at 10pm ET/PT on MTV, while Colletti can be seen as Chase Adams on One Tree Hill, which returns for a fifth season in January 2008.
