The breakup we all knew was coming finally happened. The Bachelor season 18 star Juan Pablo Galavis and girlfriend Nikki Ferrell have split. Multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly that “the split was not mutual and that Ferrell broke up with her beau.”

Ferrell was Galavis’ final pick in the finale of the ABC reality dating series though the former soccer player did not propose. And despite Ferrell saying she loves him, he never professed his love for her and just simply said that he “likes her… A LOT.”

The couple quickly became the subject of public scrutiny– Ferrell for her decision to stand by him and Galavis for his bluntness and how he treated women competing during his season, among other things. Their relationship has since been plagued by gossip and rumors that seemed to foreshadow their split.

After The Bachelor, Galavis and Ferrell found their way back into reality TV as part of VH1’s Couples Therapy. In the episode which aired October 8, Ferrell expressed her frustration over her relationship: “I feel like why give someone 100 percent, if they’re not giving you 100 percent?”

“She wants to hear I love you. It’s a word issue,” Galavis said in response. “If I say it, I mean it.”

On Sunday, October 26, Ferrell unfollowed Galavis on Twitter and Facebook while sharing a striking quote on her Instagram page. “Isn’t it pathetic how we waste so much time on certain people and in the end they prove that they weren’t even worth a second of it,” Ferrell wrote. “Nope not one single second.”

Galavis, on the other hand, unfollowed Ferrell several times from Sunday to Monday morning. He also posted this message on his Twitter page: “Sometimes you WIN, sometimes you LOSE… You will ALWAYS learn…”
