Supernatural fans have suffered nearly three months without the CW paranormal series, which concluded its fourth season with the opening of the door to Lucifer’s prison. Really, it’s been a hell of a wait. Luckily, there’s Comic-Con and this year’s panel, consisting of series creator Eric Kripke, writers Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund as well as cast members Misha Collins (Castiel) and Jim Beaver (Bobby), has hinted on what looks to be a bloody good fifth season.

Season 4 basically tore Sam and Dean apart and that’s the kind of predicament you’d expect to carry on as Supernatural faces the end of the world. But while season 5 is all about the Apocalypse, that doesn’t mean that it will be a very depressing chapter for the demon-fighting duo. In fact, it’s been said that it’s the most optimistic season of Supernatural. And that alone should give you enough reason to tune in.
