More than a few classic DC Comics characters have made their way to the CW’s Smallville over the years.  The Green Arrow, The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg, and Martian Manhunter are some of the characters who have run into young Clark Kent since the series started.  The latest DC hero to make an appearance will be Black Canary, who is set to arrive in the February 7 episode entitled “Siren.”  In the original comics, Black Canary is known for being a kick-butt member of the Birds of Prey and a love interest for Green Arrow.  She also has a high powered sonic scream that can shatter objects and incapacitate villains.  Now the CW has finally released images of Smallville‘s version of this classic heroine.

First, here is a photo of how Black Canary usually looks in the comic books:

As you can see, her character seems to think that less is more when it comes to crime fighting outfits.  Here is Smallville‘s Black Canary, set to be played by Alaina Huffman:

This Black Canary definitely enjoys the same outfits as the comic book version, but she also looks a little bit crazier.  In the episode her character will be working for Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), which means she’ll end up clashing with Chloe (Allison Mack), Lois (Erica Durance), Clark (Tom Welling), and Green Arrow.  In the original comics, Black Canary despised Green Arrow before falling for him, so this could be the beginning of a beautiful love/hate relationship.

“Siren” will air Thursday, February 7 at 8pm on the CW.
