If Chris Weitz is to be believed, it seems Jamie Campbell Bower’s so witty that he thought up of the craziest thing. I mean, a nude scene for the Volturi on second Twilight film New Moon?
Surely you’ve heard it, but here’s to get you up to speed anyway: in an interview with MTV News, the guy who plays Caius say there’ll be a scene where the male Volturi members will be naked, pretty much. “It’s me, Michael Sheen and Christopher [Heyerdahl],” he said. “We just sit there, naked.”
Sure, the film’s got a PG-13 rating, but if it’s because someone’s taking off their clothes then it shouldn’t go that far, right? I don’t think that’s the idea. Well, sure, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will go topless in a couple of scenes.
I guess what Jamie said got director Chris Weitz in some position, and now he’s cleared things up. Nah, there won’t be a nude scene with the Volturi.
“I would like to put everyone’s mind at rest and let them know that the Volturi are not naked!” he wrote in a note released through the folks at Summit. “Jamie has what you might call a dry sense of humor, and almost managed to convince me–which is why he’s such a good actor. Anyway, be assured that, even though we do want the look of the Volturi to be a bit of a surprise, they are as always–as in the book!–fully clothed.”
Must be a British thing, that dry humor. But admittedly, the thought of a naked Volturi scene made me chuckle, and because it sounds a bit improbable. Right?
