Attention, Twilight fans: the trailer for the sequel, New Moon, already has a release date.  Mark your calendars, and flock to the cinemas on August 14, when the film’s trailer will be released.

The New Moon trailer will be attached to Bandslam, another Summit Entertainment movie which looks like a rockier version of High School Musical.  It’s got everything down pat, even–the film centers on Will Burton, a newcomer at a high school in New Jersey who strikes a friendship with Sa5m–no, that’s not a typo, and it’s basically “Sam” with a number in the middle–and with popular girl Charlotte, who goads them to join a band competition.  That band that they form will go up against a Springsteen-inspired band fronted by, of all people, Charlotte’s ex-boyfriend.
Part of that film’s cast?  Newcomer Gaelen Connell, Alyson Michalka (one half of Aly & AJ), Lisa Kudrow, and High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens.  Makes it a pretty good watch for those who would’ve flocked to the cinemas to just watch the New Moon trailer, right?  Good thinking, Summit Entertainment.

Unless there’s something that comes up on both ends, Bandslam will hit screens on August 14, by which time you can expect the New Moon trailer to show up, too, giving you a dose of how Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen look like as the Volturi, alongside Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

Interested to see that film’s trailer?  I’ve embedded it below.  Of course, if you’re not interested in the film and decide that a ticket’s not worth seeing the New Moon trailer, well, you can wait longer until November for the film to open.  Or, you can catch it online, soon enough.
