Three more hours (and, in normal speed, two more weeks) to go, and this day in 24 history is over.  I’ve had enough time to think about last week’s episode and, after seeing the possible spoilers about stuff that could happen in the three remaining episodes, I might take a few things back.  Like that cliffhanger theory I floated.

But that’s not the point, really.  With the end of the day drawing near, everything is becoming more and more imminent.  The biological attack is drawing near–and, as we figured out at the last seconds of that episode, it’s in a subway station somewhere, guessing it’s Washington, D.C.  Also drawing near?  An emotional breakdown within the FBI, or CTU-lite, or whatever, especially after Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) finally learned of Jack’s (Kiefer Sutherland) condition.  Not to mention Jack’s condition itself, although that didn’t get that much of a focus last tine.  It could only go further up.

Here’s what we know, thanks to those spoilers: Jack and Tony (Carlos Bernard) will meet again, and it would be nasty.  It’s apparently a pretty violent scene, but the question is, how will the two meet?  Well, of course, they’re following a lead to the Muslim student they’re holding hostage, all right.  Insert feelings of betrayal and mix it in with Jack’s tendency to shout louder lately, possibly another side effect.  He’s getting warped.

Also not helping matters for Jack is his daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) who, in usual 24 fashion, gets tangled in this national emergency.  Will she be in that train station?  Or abducted?  Will Tony abduct her, knowing Jack’s connections?  I don’t know, to be honest.

Back at base, things won’t get better between Chloe and Janis (Janeane Garofalo).  They’ve been going against each other since the former returned to reactive CTU’s servers, and all this tension will come around any moment–and that happens to be now.  Well, ladies, there’s just three hours left, and this should all be over… unless that cliffhanger theory proves to be correct after all.  But I digress.  The penultimate (it seems) episode of 24 this season drops tonight from 9pm on Fox.
