Can I just say… awesome?

Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello confirmed that Neil Patrick Harris is close to snagging a guest role on an upcoming episode of Glee–the same episode that will be directed by Joss Whedon.

Reports say the How I Met Your Mother star was absolutely interested in a slot, and Glee creator Ryan Murphy wrote him a special role, which obviously involves singing and dancing–just what he did on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the Tonys and the Emmys and, most recently, HIMYM‘s 100th episode. Well, maybe he wouldn’t sing about suits and girls this time.

The deal still has to pass CBS’ approval, though, although from where I am it seems pretty much a closed deal, especially considering that both Glee and HIMYM are produced by 20th Century Fox.

Any ideas on how that Barney Stinson guy will turn New Directions into a “legendary” glee club? Maybe he’s out for a wingman. I don’t know.
