A telethon George Clooney is helping to organize for MTV to benefit victims of the recent devastation in Haiti is getting a lot bigger.  Today MTV announced that not only will it air on their network, but also VH1, HBO, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and the CW.

The telethon will air Friday, January 22 at 8pm on all networks.  Celebrities are still being lined up, but it’s sure to be a star-studded event to raise plenty of money for the victims.
Though it’s obviously not as important as helping the citizens of Haiti, there are some scheduling issues the telethon will present.  FOX originally scheduled the series finale of Dollhouse for that night, but now the show will most likely be put off for a week.

Similarly, January 22 was when Smallville would return to the CW, but now that show will also be pushed.  However, neither of these should present a problem.

After the series finale of Dollhouse, FOX planned on putting House reruns at 8pm, so replacing one of those with Dollhouse should be easy.  The CW also has reruns of Smallville scheduled for 9pm on Fridays following the new episodes, so if they need to, they can simply put two new episodes on January 29.

Now the only question is whether Kanye West will be invited so he can say “President Obama cares about black people.”
